The 17th Annual Statewide Housing Conference, “Soaring to New Heights” is scheduled for February 20-21 at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck.  This conference is sponsored by the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency and is another great opportunity for communities that are working on housing issues expecially.  There are a variety of breakout sessions and information will be provided on;  housing development and rehabilitation resources,  advice from state and federal multifamily program staff, a home-ownership-focused legal panel, financing tools for manufactured housing,  environmental regulations update and the development of a housing trust fund.

 Please consider attending this worthwhile conference or sending individuals from your community that are working on housing issues.

Marketplace for Entrepreneurs will be held this year at the Grand Forks Alerus with many activities on both January 15 and 16th.  Please check out their website at www.marketplaceforentrepreneurs.org.  The event is free and open to the public.  Many of our Horizons communities indicated they wanted to develop local entrepreneurs and this is a great place to make connections and get additional information.

Consider sending some young people from your community and utilizing your community budgets to do so.  The turnaround time is short but this is great conference and a great opportunity for many in the region.
